The couple that works together shares perks together.

At least that's true for Creig Northrop and his wife, Carla, two CEOs who founded Northrop Realty in 2018. Their biggest perk is they're their own bosses.

Northrop Realty's company efforts earned first place in the midsize category in Delaware Online/The News Journal's Top Workplaces competition for 2023.

The company prides itself on offering a full-service experience at no extra cost to clients — providing them with everything from professional staging advice to award-winning marketing, according to Northrop's website.

The secret sauce for this full-service brokerage begins with its 421 agents and employees across seven locations in Delaware; Pennsylvania; Maryland; Washington, D.C.; Virginia; North Carolina; and Florida.

Carla said they created a successful business model built on the core values of authenticity, inclusivity, passion and collaboration.

"This foundation guides our behavior, decision-making and overall company culture," she added. "Our leadership leads by example, inspiring individual agents, team leaders and employees, and fostering a positive work environment that empowers everyone to thrive."

Carla explained that Northrop is committed to continuously investing in their team's growth and development through many ways like their exclusive university named NorthropU, roundtables and their mentorship program.

Carla and Creig Northrop are the founders and CEOs of Northrop Realty.

Looking back on the company's Delaware success, Creig reflected on three of the most memorable properties Northrop Realty sold here.

The first is a home in a gated community in Bethany Beach's Ocean Breezes. The house offers nearly 7,000 square feet with an elevator that services three floors. This home sold in 2021 for $5.6 million, which is also the most expensive property in Delaware that Northrop has sold, plus it set the record for the most expensive home in Ocean Breezes by nearly $2 million, Creig said.

Second is a posh, ranch-style home in Rehoboth Beach's Henlopen Acres, adjacent to North Shores where President Biden has his vacation home. This home is similar to what you'd find at a coast retreat. It sold for $2.7 million.

Third is a luxury residence in the Sanctuary neighborhood of Millsboro. The three-level home features superior craftmanship, it offers a panoramic view of the Indian River Bay, and it can comfortably accommodate 20 guests. The home, which sold for $2.1 million, is "among the finest in the Peninsula's prestigious Jack Nicklaus Golf Course community," Creig said.

The future is looking bright for Northrop, the CEO added.

The company plans to expand in New Castle County, after opening a new office in Newark last year. Their other locations are in Sussex County.

Creig is also excited about recently launching Northrop Realty CARES, a community service and philanthropy campaign to address housing instability and food insecurity and promote diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

"By joining forces with reputable nonprofits, Northrop Realty CARES strives to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need."
